Make your own home made carpet cleaners and homemade carpet cleaning solution. Homemade carpet cleaners can be very effective or they could be very dangerous. I will cover some homemade carpet cleaners and homemade carpet cleaning solution that you can make safely and I will tell you about some that you want to avoid. Whenever cleaning a carpet, test your cleaners in an inconspicuous area first. If the color of the carpet is transferring or the carpet becomes brittle, then stop and try something else. Now to decide what type of home made carpet cleaners you need, you will have to identify the type of soil or spots you have.
Are they dry? (dirt and mud)
Are they oily in nature? (grease spots, food spills)

When removing the spot, you may have to work at the spot a little by carefully agitating it with a spoon.
Many spots require more than one homemade carpet cleaners agent/method. Continue using the first method until there is no longer a transfer of spot to the cleaning the cloth. Then try the second method suggested, then the third, and fourth, etc. until the spot is successfully removed. Pretest the cleaning agent in a small, inconspicuous area to ensure that the solution will not damage the carpet or its dyes. With a clean, white, absorbent cloth, gently work in the cleaning agent from the edges of the spot to the center. Never from the center out or you risk spreading the spot. Do not vigorously scrub, gently blot.
Thoroughly blot and repeat until the spot no longer transfers to the cleaning cloth. Remove any remaining homemade carpet cleaners residue by rinsing with a hand held steam carpet cleaners using clean lukewarm tap water. Absorb remaining moisture with an absorbent cloth. You'll need a few items first, it is usually better to have these items ready before you ever need them. Using a spray bottle may make this a little easier. Failure to rinse all of the homemade carpet cleaners spotting solution may result with residue being left behind and soil and dust will be attracted to this area. Dry the area completely with a clean towel and apply weight, rotate the towel until dry.
